St Joseph’s Convent School marks Annual Day with cultural splendour

St Joseph’s Convent School, Kalpetta, celebrated its Annual Day 2025 with grandeur and dignity at the school open auditorium on December 17. The event, aptly titled “La Speranza (The Hope)”, brought together students, parents, educators, and distinguished guests for an evening that highlighted academic excellence, cultural vibrancy, and the institution’s enduring values.
The programme commenced with a solemn prayer by the school choir, setting a reflective tone for the celebrations. Rev. Sr Josephin Shylaja BS, Local Manager, extended a warm welcome to the gathering. The Annual Report was presented by Rev. Sr Alphonsa Joseph BS, Principal, who outlined the school’s academic achievements, co-curricular milestones, and key initiatives undertaken during the year.
Rev. Sr Priya Rose BS, Assistant Provincial Superior of the Bethany Educational Society, Southern Province, delivered the presidential address, emphasising the role of education in nurturing hope, resilience, and social responsibility among young learners.
The celebrations were formally inaugurated by noted playback singer Mr. Balram, renowned for his Idea Star Singer fame. In his inaugural address, he encouraged students to pursue their talents with dedication and confidence.
A felicitation ceremony followed, honouring Adv. T. Siddhique, MLA of Kalpetta constituency; Rev. Fr Vincent Pulickal, Vicar of Sacred Heart Church, Kalpetta; Mr. Aju Mathew, PTA President; and Mr. Rajan Babu, Senior Secondary Coordinator, in recognition of their support and contributions to the school community.
Mrs. Neena Sebastian, Staff Secretary, proposed the vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the guests, organisers, teachers, students, and parents for their collective efforts in making the event a success. The programme concluded with the National Anthem.
The Annual Day celebration stood as a testament to St Joseph’s Convent School’s commitment to holistic education, fostering not only academic excellence but also creativity, values, and hope among its students.
